The three figures in the center of the painting still puzzle me. They remain because of my fascination with them. I began with a red/brown and some maroon which quickly became pink. Freely painted black lines contrast. The tone and attitude of the painting remain and still draw me into the work. The wonderful light and the shadows from the slatted walls added to the joy of painting in Mike’s chaplet.

The sidewalls also metaphorically express the linear, flat landscape of the Northern Plains.
